MAVIM launches eBusiness portal for women farmers & entrepreneurs

Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) launched its eBusiness portal with a goal to establish social and economic growth for women through sustainable development. The portal is a platform for women entrepreneurs and farmers to enhance trade possibilities and reach out to a larger market.

MAVIM was declared as a Nodal agency by Government of Maharashtra on 20 January 2003 to implement various women empowerment program through Self Help Groups (SHGs). MAVIM is under aegis of the Women and Child Welfare Department and is the State’s ‘Women Development Corporation’. MAVIM is committed to create business opportunities and prospects for women, and investing in human capital and the capacity building of women, thus making them economically and socially empowered and enabling them to access sustainable livelihoods.

The aim is to enhance the overall capacities of women, with self-confidence and independence. Also to promote entrepreneurial development of women and synchronize employment opportunities and market linkages. In addition, facilitate women’s rights to equal opportunities, prosperity, and participation in Governance and build grassroots institutions for SHGs as a way forward to sustainable development. There are 1.5 million women organized and connected to MAVIM through various SHGs.

It is an eBusiness portal for women to showcase and sell their products to a greater audience and enhance trade opportunities, with ESDS Software Solutions being their technology partners. This portal, created by ESDS, is a technologically advance marketplace for various activities of business, which includes both the buyer and supplier eco-systems for trading.
