The much-awaited trade show for the food and beverage industry – ANUTEC- International FoodTec India opened its door to visitors and exhibitors today along with concurrent trade fairs ANUTEC Ingredients India, PackEx India, Annapoorna – ANUFOOD India, and Food Logistics India at Bombay Exhibition Center (BEC), Mumbai. Spanning over three days, from 14 to 16 September 2022, the trade show offers a host of opportunities to learn, interact, and mingle with potential customers and help companies expand their businesses.

The event was inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp by the Union Minister of State, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, in the esteemed presence of Milind Dixit, managing director-Koelnmesse YA Tradefair, Arun Chawla, director general-FICCI, Raghav Jadli, president -AIFPA, Dr. Sudhanshu, secretary-agricultural and processed food products export development authority (APEDA) and other dignitaries. 

Chawla expressed gratitude to the Ministry for providing guidance and tremendous support in organizing the event. Jadli said, "I am m glad to see also a lot of participation from the international food operator business community and this exchange of technology."

 The Minister also released the FICCI-BCG Knowledge Report/White Paper, 'Tapping India's Fodd Processing Potential – A Call to Action.' and the show directory. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Dixit, who thanked the audience and dignitaries for their valuable presence.

The first day of the trade show was bustling with energy and included networking sessions, live demonstrations, business meetings with potential clients, relevant concurrent seminars and conferences focused on current and future industry trends addressed by eminent speakers, and much more.

Guided Factory Tour-

The guided factory tour allowed visitors to see the various factory equipment in action. The tour aims to provide prospective buyers with a feel of visiting factory premises, evaluating/experiencing the live machine & gathering technical insights from the experts of the respective booth.

On one such tour, Clearpack showcased live demonstrations of its shrink packaging machine, side load case packer, netfill technology for liquid filling, automatic stacking and retrieval system (ASRS), and 3D bin sorter, which sorts the products based on stock keeping unit (SKU). The innovative initiative was appreciated by visitors and saw good footfall on the first day.

Packaging Theatre by Innova Market Insights

As a part of this unique concept, Innova Market Insights displayed India's top trends and concepts in sustainable and innovative packaging by setting up product examples to inspire manufacturers to develop their own innovative packaging.

Bhushan Patil, lead consumer insights, Innova Market Insights said, "The aim is to drive packaging innovation, and as well as approach them in terms of helping them develop their brand and their packaging." The top trends displayed at the booth were eye-catching designs, captivating closures, cutting Carbon, choosing to reuse, dispensing with plastic, and firing up functionality, aided by appropriate product examples from around the world.

The booth saw a wide range of curious visitors eager to know the top trends ruling the country and how to make the most of this knowledge.

Conference by CASMB- Central Government's Ministry of MSME Schemes and Support to Food Industry

Shri Praful Umare, Assistant Director (Grade-II), Office of. Development Commissioner (MSME) spoke at ANUTEC- International FoodTec India 2022. He briefed the audience about the growing and strengthening MSME sector in India. He explained the difference between the 3 (Micro, Small, Medium) sectors and explained the support services provided by the Chamber For Advancement for the MSME sectors. The Government of India has introduced MSME or Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in agreement with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act of 2006. These enterprises primarily engaged in producing, manufacturing, processing, or preserving goods and commodities. They have collaborated and worked with the concerned ministries, state governments, and stakeholders towards the upbringing of rural areas.

Shri Praful explained in detail the process of registering under MSME and all the benefits and supported the Government of India provides to the sector. From financial support and training to legal support, the government backs and supports all the MSMEs to meet their goals. In conclusion to the seminar, the Indian MSME sector provides silent support to the national economy and acts as a defense against global economic shock and adversities. India is propelling towards a robust global economy through a silent revolution powered by MSMEs.

Intelligent Intralogistics - Experience the Flow

The enriching seminar, conducted by Siemens, aimed to enhance the audience's knowledge about the need for digitalization or a digital twin, well explained by Ashwinkumar Inamdar, manager of business development, Siemens.

He shed light on the problems faced by manufacturers, like changes or disruptions in the technologies in the form of digitalization artificial intelligence, and robotics. He added, "This puts a lot of pressure in the form of time to market in the form of speed in the form of better utilization of the space for the warehouses. And when they're dealing with all these challenges, there is also a need that the solution should be sustainable. We can help you know to cater to all these problems."

Explaining the concept of a digital twin, he said, "With the help of digital twin we are bringing the real and the digital both together. So, in the digital world, a customer can first simulate his entire machine without having any material with it. And once the concept is ready, he can directly start manufacturing the machine." He added, "Digitalization or a digital twin, is not a buzzword, a few years back, it was a buzzword, people were talking about it but now this is already starting to be utilized. People and our customers are already using it." The seminar ended with queries from the audience.

Apurva Kane, senior vice president, Mamata Machinery, "The covid break has given everybody a breathing space after two years, and therefore we find that the attendance and registrations are very good. We look forward to receiving a lot of people. Today, tomorrow, and the day after."

Harshad Savekar, divisional manager, Bizerba, "After the pandemic, we feel the footfall has drastically improved from the southern and western region of the country. We're very pleased by the footfall."

Tejas Shah, assistant general manager, Gandhi Automations, "At present, we are very pleased with the layout, we can see many potential buyers, consultants, and renowned names from the industry visiting our stall. We eagerly look forward to the coming days."

Namita Sharma, marketing executive, ACE Technologies, "Having a well-known recognition worldwide, Anutec has been an international partner with us for over a decade now. We have our principals coming down only for this show. Given the show is happening after a gap we look forward to a good footfall as this is the only platform where we connect with our existing and new customers."

Abhishek Pundhir, sales manager, Kanchan Metals, "Anutec being one of the major exhibitions has all OEMs, brands, and portfolio holders looking up to it. We look forward to meeting them all since this is the only platform we get to meet and greet new and existing clients from all over the map."
