The impact of changing lifestyles on the F&B sector

The pandemic forced many people, especially working professionals, to rethink their eating habits and look for healthier options. According to Krishnamachari, health, lifestyle, and work-life balance awareness has been increasing in the last few years. He adds, “Today, people don’t mind exceeding budgets to buy organic vegetables, exotic fruits, packaged juice, freshly made salads, imported dry fruits, nuts, and plant-based meals. With the enforcement of the plastic ban, the challenge for the packaging industry is to maintain and practice safe packaging practices like hygiene, higher shelf life, and sustainable packing.”

He further states that the packaging industries must develop systematic and more sophisticated selling organized retailing systems.
