KisanKonnect, a farm-to-home online provider of fresh vegetables, fruits, village staples, and homemade food, has registered a whooping growth of 800% in the number of buyers buying from its online platform in the third year of its operation compared to the first year.

In the first year of operation, KisanKonnect became the first farmer–centric company to provide farm–fresh vegetables and fruits to the doorsteps of people during the lockdown and distributed vegetables and fruits to over 30,000 buyers. In the last three years, it has crossed the mark of 2.5 Lakh online buyers, which shows the consumers' preferences for buying vegetables and fruits online.

KisanKonnect is making about 1.5 lakh deliveries per month of fresh vegetables and fruits in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune markets. Currently, it offers an online assortment of over 200 vegetables and 100 varieties of fresh fruits.

Becoming a major online supplier of fresh and safe vegetables and fruits directly from the farms, KisanKonnect has recorded an average of seven orders per minute and has touched 10 lakh downloads as of date.

Nidhi Nirmal, business head and director, KisanKonnect Safe Foods, said, “As we complete three years of successful operations, we are witnessing a significant change in the preferences of consumers towards vegetables and fruit buying. More people are now moving to online buying of daily needs of vegetables and fruits over a click; just like they order any consumer durable products or technology gadgets. Increasing awareness about buying fresh, quality, hygienic, and safe food is becoming a norm and people are cautious about nutrition values in vegetables and fruits, which is driving more buyers to fresh and safe agricultural produce.”

Started as a lockdown idea on 11th April 2020 at the beginning of COVID, with about 11 farmers joining this farmer–centric company today, KisanKonnect has created a huge base of over 5,000 farmers who are its members and supplies their farm – fresh produce for online deliveries. KisanKonnect supplies daily replacement stocks of fresh vegetables, fruits, village staples, and food items from its Shrirampur, Manchar, and Navi Mumbai grading centers to the markets of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune.

Recently, KisanKonnect expanded its omni – channel footprint in the markets of Navi Mumbai, such as Vashi, Kopar Khairane, Kharghar, Sanpada, and Kamothe, to make available farm–fresh vegetables and fruits to the people in their neighborhood. Added Nirmal, “We are expanding our omni – channel network to firm up our presence, as we want the customers to take a look and feel of fresh and high-quality vegetables and fruits coming to them in real-time from the farms. In the future, we will expand our stores' network in Mumbai and Pune markets, too.”

KisanKonnect has opened its own Agri Clinics and expanded its reach to educate member farmers about Regenerative Agricultural Practices for better soil management, improved crop yields, and tackling the challenges of climate change, which in turn, is ensuring quality crops with better price realizations. Recently, KisanKonnect launched its Agri Clinic in Manchar in the Pune district.
