The Krones Group, a world reference in providing technological solutions for filling and packaging, showed an important recovery in its business in 2021, after a year of economic difficulties caused by the global health crisis. Preliminary data from its financial statements indicate that the company's revenue grew 9.4% compared to the previous year, reaching the figure of 3.63 billion euros. The percentage reached the upper limit projected by the Krones Group in July 2021, of an annual growth between 7% and 9%.

Order intake rose 30.5% last year, recovering losses related to the new coronavirus pandemic and setting a new record for the company's business. In 2021, there was greater confidence on the part of Krones Group customers in the resumption of investments, which took place more quickly and solidly throughout the year.

Krones' profitability also improved significantly in 2021. EBITDA increased from 133.2 million euros in 2020 to 312.6 million euros in 2021. The EBITDA margin rose to 8.6% (previous year: 4%). Adjusted for one-off effects on EBITDA in 2021 and 2020, the EBITDA margin improved from 6.2% in the previous year to 8.1% in 2021. The final annual report will be published on March 24th.

Future – The Krones Group had a strong start to 2022 in terms of new orders. However, the company understands that this year will still have a very challenging environment for its business, for different reasons, such as problems in global supply chains, doubts about the Covid-19 pandemic, and geopolitical conflicts in Europe. Even with a scenario of so many uncertainties, the Executive Board of the Krones Group projects revenue growth of 5% to 8% for 2022.
