Medusa Beverages records maximum sales of cans

FoodTechBiz Desk

Medusa Beverages, which brews its beer 'Medusa' in India, has recorded maximum sales of beer cans with a market share of 17% consecutively for Three months (February, March & April 2023) in Delhi.

Millennials in the metro cities are mirroring global trends and trading up to beer cans even for a higher unit price. The willingness to buy smaller cans has been an antidote to weak sales as consumers have shifted away from high to low alcoholic beverages and from bottles to cans. Medusa has always focused on producing more cans as they are portable, recyclable, and provide better protection.

Medusa is based in India and has a national marketing division with unique and contemporary packaging. The brand opened its first brewery in Punjab, and there are more than 2000 retail locations where it is sold. In Delhi, there are about 650 retail locations for beer, with some high-end cafés, with a distribution width of 90%.

Avneet Singh, founder, Medusa Beverages, said, "Creating a brand and making space for it is a tough job in today's highly competitive market. I am glad & grateful that people have liked and appreciated our product, with this power and acceptance, we look forward to our further market expansion plans to become a PAN India player."

He added, "We always wanted to cater to the needs of the younger crowd in the market. Based on the increasing demand in the North region, we now have three new breweries to make the brand accessible to a larger audience and expand our business in India."

Soon, Medusa may consider releasing a moderate variation of the Premium beer. The brand is also considering enhancing its "on-trade" presence in the following years.

The brand is currently available in seven states, including Delhi, UP, Punjab, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Silvassa, and will soon be available in Uttarakhand.
