SIG, a leading systems and solutions provider for aseptic packaging, was awarded “Top Futuristic Technology” at the Gulfood Manufacturing award ceremony for its next-generation filling machine, SIG NEO.
The annual event and award ceremony returned live in-person this year at Dubai World Trade Centre and attracted a vast number of food manufacturing industry connoisseurs.
SIG NEO, the centerpiece of SIG’s next-generation food and beverage filling technology, impressed the jury at the “Gulfood Manufacturing Innovation Awards 2021”. The filling machine will redefine a new era for the global F&B industry. It is the world’s fastest filling machine for family-size carton packs with up to 18,000 packs per hour. SIG NEO has best-in-class sterility rates and reduced consumption of resources – all adding to the improved total cost of ownership and a 25% lower carbon footprint than SIG’s current generation filling machines for family-size carton packs.
Abdelghany Eladib, president and general manager at SIG, said, “SIG is renowned for its technological masterpieces and forward-looking innovations, and SIG NEO only fortifies our position as a regional and international leader in the food and beverage industry. Winning this award at the most reputable F&B manufacturing show in the region shows that sustainability and innovation are at the heart of what we do. The unwavering trust of our customers and partners continues to guide us to achieve and innovate more.”
Stefan Mergel, senior product manager Equipment at SIG said, “SIG NEO is fast, flexible, trustworthy, innovative, and has one of the lowest carbon footprints possible for an aseptic filling machine. It is the greatest machine SIG has ever engineered and the best in the market. Being recognized for our hard work and forward-looking solutions shows that consciousness and perseverance always pay off and that having a strong overarching vision can only fuel innovation, creativity, and growth.”
This is not the first time that SIG has won an award at Gulfood Manufacturing. The company previously received “The Environmental Award of The Year” for its SIGNATURE portfolio packaging material linked to 100% plant-based renewable materials, and the “Gulfood Award” for drinksplus, its technology that makes it possible to aseptically fill carton packs with beverages containing pieces of fruits, vegetables, nuts or grains.
