Launched in 2022, Smart Yums offers ready-to-eat dried snacks made using advanced cryodesiccation technology, making it the perfect healthy snack that contains all-natural fruit vitamins, minerals, and nutrients.

Over the years, it was noticed more quickly than before, that the healthy snack, has undergone a profound reform. Now you can enjoy and quench your mid-day hunger pangs with delicious snacks that won't compromise your diet goals. Making healthy foods convenient and delicious

"With more than six years of experience in the food industry, we have developed different ways of providing food that is not versions of fast-food fixes but solutions to improve nutrition. We developed Smart Yums to offer everyone a brand that is free from artificial preservatives, has a longer shelf life (three years at room temperature when packed), and has full nutritional value with our NUTRI-LOCKING technology,” mentions Aditya Sinhal.

On a mission to build a healthy nation

After the Covid era, the two brothers noticed a shift in the market for healthy and conveniently packaged foods. But after spotting a gap in the segment, Smart Yums was launched to meet the demands of educated and conscious consumers and reduce food consumption. "Smart Yums is made by cryodesiccation, which is one of the ideal forms of pure food preservation. Our innovative cryodesiccation process allows it to be applied to foods that were previously unsuitable for drying. In developing this vision, we are taking products like peanut butter and transforming them into a portable and convenient protein and energy-packed nutrition bar," adds Kanishk Sinhal.

The main idea behind the Nutri-locking technology was to provide smart solutions to the everyday problems inherent in the Indian diet. The basic technology of cryodesiccation ensures that the nutritional value of food is preserved without added preservatives or chemicals. The process also preserves the aroma, taste, color, and texture of the food. Regular freezing stops the growth of microorganisms in the food because they cannot cause food spoilage at cold temperatures and, although they retain their original appearance, the food tends to be mushy when thawed. This is because the moisture forms large crystals that affect the quality of the food when defrosted.

Cryodesiccation, on the other hand, freezes and vaporizes ice crystals without returning them to their liquid state. By removing these ice crystals, the moisture content of the food is removed without the possibility of spoilage because there is no water for the development of micro-organisms.

An initiative to revolutionize healthy snacks in India

Embarking forward with a vision that will help evolve the average Indian diet in the 21st century, Smart Yums plans to revolutionize healthy snacking by trying to solve problems that have been omnipresent in our food baskets. "We strive to provide solutions that help customers eat better with our convenient and nutritious protein bars and 5-second chutneys, bringing Indian dips to supermarket aisles," concludes Aditya Sinhal.
