2nd Plant-Based Foods Summit organized by Plant Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA) on 25 May 2023 at Hotel Le Meridien, Windsor Place, New Delhi

Three ministries Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), have come together to present the biggest 2nd Plant-Based Foods Summit organized by Plant Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA) on 25 May 2023, Thursday at Hotel Le Meridien, Windsor Place, New Delhi. It is supported by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the US Soybean Export Council.

The 2nd Plant-Based Foods Summit is presented by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), and Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and organized by Plant Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA). It will be graced by key dignitaries such as Mercy Eapos, joint secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises; Dr. Sudhanshu, secretary, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA); Jim Sutter, chief executive officer, US Soybean Export Council (USA); Jasmijn De Boo, chief executive officer, Proveg International; Atul Mulay, president, Praj Industries; Sanjay Sethi, executive director, Plant Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA) and many more thought leaders.

The summit will showcase an exhibition of Plant-Based Foods from various companies and start-ups and feature a conference with immersive sessions with industry experts as keynote speakers, policymakers, the HoReCa community, academia, etc., that will provide insights into the latest trends, innovations, and future of the plant-based foods industry. The exhibition will help exhibitors to showcase their products and network with key players in the industry, including potential investors and partners. The exhibition will feature the most innovative businesses, products, ingredients, and machinery from India and worldwide, focusing on promoting and celebrating the rapidly growing plant-based foods industry. The participants include Continental Greenbird, Nutricircle, Brenntag, Sanitech Engineers, Blue Tribe Foods, Vezlay, Pall Corporation, Shaka Harry, Evolved Foods and many more.

Pitch Perfect investors show

One of the summit's highlights is the "Pitch Perfect" Investors Show, which will allow companies to pitch their brands to potential investors globally and secure funding. The show targets investors and strategic partners from the plant-based foods sector.

India's plant-based food industry is experiencing rapid growth and transformation. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious, and environmental concerns drive the shift toward plant-based diets. The growth has positive economic, environmental, and public health implications. The industry has the potential to create new jobs and increase revenue streams for small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, plant-based diets have been shown to impact the environment positively.

Live Cooking Demo

The summit will feature "The Live Cooking Demo" by professional chefs such as Chef Dr Gautan Chaudhry, Chef Sanjay Aarwal, Chef Anirudh Sethi, Chef Bharat Khemani, Chef Somnath Porel, Chef Tarun Kumar, Chef Dr. Prem Ram, and Chef Seitu Gupta who will demonstrate innovative plant-based recipes, providing inspiration and new product ideas.

Additionally, the PBFIA Awards Ceremony will take place to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals and companies to the industry. This ceremony will provide an opportunity for participants to gain recognition for their hard work and celebrate their success.
