Marine Hydrocolloids invites you to explore its world of hydrocolloid innovation at Gulfood Manufacturing 2024! Join them at Hall No: 6, Stall No: C6-32 from November 5-7, 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Marking its 7th consecutive year at Gulfood Manufacturing, Marine Hydrocolloids proudly showcases over four decades of leadership in the hydrocolloids and food ingredient industry. Based in Kerala, India, the company is renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation and customer satisfaction, with a diverse range of hydrocolloids tailored to meet the evolving demands of the global market, making it a cornerstone of the food ingredient manufacturing sector.

At the core of Marine Hydrocolloids success is its extensive product portfolio, which caters to a wide array of industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, tissue culture, cosmetics and nutraceuticals. The company’s flagship product, Agar Agar, is a 100% vegan alternative to gelatin, derived from red seaweed. This food-grade Agar powder is safe for consumption and has become increasingly popular as the world shifts towards plant-based diets. Marine Hydrocolloids R&D team has explored the potential of Agar-based products in the food industry, creating a versatile ingredient perfect for jellies, puddings and cheesecakes. The powder is produced in its purest form, devoid of any taste or smell, ensuring that it does not alter the flavor of the dishes it is used in. This makes it an impeccable gelling, thickening and stabilizing agent.

Marine Hydrocolloids innovative spirit is further exemplified by Spreadable Agar Agar Wondergel, a product from its R&D lab designed as the ultimate alternative to animal-based gelatin. Wondergel, made from Gracilaria seaweed, has a higher dissolution temperature and can easily dissolve in boiling water, setting to a gel form at room temperature. Its creamy and soft texture makes it ideal for a wide range of delicacies, including cake glazes, decorative piping gel, yogurt, soft puddings, spreadable cheese, marmalades, jams and more. Wondergel is not only versatile but also aligns perfectly with vegetarian and vegan diets, making it a valuable addition to any culinary application.

Another breakthrough product is Agar Instant, a specialty Agar that offers fast solubilization and superior performance at lower temperatures (70°C) compared to standard Agar. Agar Instant disperses perfectly in water without forming lumps, creating a desirable mouthfeel. This product is available in different types, including Agar Instant Low Gel Strength (LG), Medium Gel Strength (MG) and High Gel Strength (HG), catering to varying needs across industries.

Marine Hydrocolloids product portfolio continues to expand with innovative offerings like Sealife, a vegan dietary fiber made from 100% pure pulverized Gracilaria seaweed. Sealife is a novel food ingredient that serves as a 2-in-1 texturizer and plant-based dietary fiber, providing soluble and insoluble fiber, enhanced mouthfeel, and texture, along with a high content of functional minerals. It is organic, chlorine-free, gluten-free and non-GMO, making it a clean-label-friendly ingredient without requiring an E number.

Carrageenan, another key product, is a hydrocolloid extracted from certain species of red seaweed. It is an excellent gelling agent that forms transparent, thermo-reversible gels with minimal syneresis, melting at high temperatures and gelling at room temperature without refrigeration. Applications include water dessert jelly, gummy bear, meat and plant-based meat applications etc.

Similarly, Sodium Alginate is a sodium salt form of alginic acid extracted from brown algae, known for its chelating activity and ability to form thermo-irreversible gels, making it widely used in molecular gastronomy and other food applications.

Marine Hydrocolloids also offers specialized stabilizers for various food products. The Crèmedelite Ice Cream Stabilizer is a 100% vegan blend that enhances the texture of ice creams and ensures consistency in quality, reducing production costs. Similarly, the Cold Glaze Stabilizer (Glazemate) is designed to improve the texture and appearance of glazes and toppings, forming a protective gel layer that enhances the freshness and visual appeal of cakes.

The company’s expertise extends to Flavored Milk Stabilizers and Milkshake Stabilizers, which play crucial roles in maintaining the consistency, texture and appearance of beverages. These stabilizers prevent sedimentation and separation, ensuring a high-quality end product. Suspension drinks contain solid particles that need to stay mixed in the liquid without settling at the bottom. Meron’s Suspension Drink Stabilizer ensures these particles remain evenly distributed, preventing separation over time.

Pectin is a versatile, non-toxic polysaccharide commonly extracted from apples and citrus fruits, widely used in food, pharmaceuticals and other industries. Meron offers a range of high-quality pectin products, including HM Pectin, LM Pectin and LMA Pectin, tailored to achieve desired textures and consistencies in applications like jams, dairy products and jellies.

Marine Hydrocolloids also excels in providing high-quality gums like Plant Gel (Gellan Gum), Tara Gum, Xanthan Gum, Locust Bean Gum, Konjac, Gumarabic, Curdlan Gum and Guar Gum. These gums serve as thickening agents, stabilizers, emulsifiers and gelling agents in various food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.

Quality assurance is at the core of Marine Hydrocolloids operations. The company maintains a robust Quality Control (QC) laboratory that conducts thorough chemical and microbiological tests to ensure compliance with international standards. Stringent quality assurance practices, including comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch numbering systems for traceability and adherence to quality standards with zero tolerance, are implemented to uphold consistency and quality across all products.

Marine Hydrocolloids dedication to innovation is evident through its Research and Development (R&D) department, equipped with an advanced pilot plant. The R&D team continuously explores new products and processes, driving the company's growth and competitiveness. By investing in research and development, Marine Hydrocolloids stays ahead of the curve, pioneering improved processes and cost efficiencies that benefit both the company and its customers.

The company places great importance on adhering to international standards. With certifications such as ISO 22000:2018, ISO 9001:2015, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Kosher and Halal certifications, Marine Hydrocolloids demonstrates its unwavering commitment to quality and safety. These certifications serve as a testament to the company’s dedication to excellence in all aspects of production.

With a presence spanning over 50 countries, Marine Hydrocolloids is not only an exporter but also a trusted supplier to various industries worldwide. From food and pharmaceuticals to biotechnology, cosmetics and nutraceuticals, the company’s products are sought after for their reliability and quality. This global reach underscores Marine Hydrocolloids reputation as a trusted partner in diverse markets.
