Proseal to showcase its fresh produce expertise

A complete fresh produce packing line solution will form the centerpiece of tray sealing and packaging line specialist Proseal’s stand at this year's Fruit Logistica

FoodTechBiz Desk

The company will showcase its Proseal 3 Tier fresh produce line, featuring its market-leading GT2s tray sealer and CP3 case packing machine, which is capable of filling, sealing, and packing up to 120 trays per minute. Also on display from the JBT Packaging Group will be examples of modular software packages for all packaging operations from Auto Coding Systems (ACS).

In addition, the stand will display other developments from parent company JBT in fresh cut and catering products, packaging and labeling, and post-harvest products and solutions, including its latest S-Series Bin Scrubber System.

The Proseal 3 Tier line provides a complete solution for the fast and efficient filling, sealing, and packing of trays. Alongside the Proseal GT2s and CP3, it features an ergonomic unsorted product delivery conveyor, an empty box removal conveyor, and a modular product delivery conveyor with integrated soft touch accumulation for pause-free product feed. Ergonomic user-friendly workstations integrate intelligent scales and waste product management.

The Proseal GT2s combines a compact design with high-speed production, sealing trays at speeds of up to 120 atmospheric packs per minute with a six-impression tool. The machine can handle different materials, such as board and pulp, with no modifications necessary, enabling packers to switch to new pack formats without additional and costly investment. A rapid tool change minimizes downtime to further enhance the machine’s flexibility.

To help fruit growers, meet the stringent quality requirements of the retail sector, Proseal’s unique Eseal technology delivers excellent seal reliability. This combined with the company’s advanced gas flushing techniques ensures that products reach the consumer in the freshest condition possible, maintaining quality and minimizing food waste.

Matching the speed of the GT2s, the Proseal CP3 case packaging machine offers efficient power consumption and a compact footprint. It can also handle a wide variety of pack formats, including trays and pots, in different materials. Auto tool technology enables fast and easy changeovers, while Quick Release (QR) conveyors allow swift removal and replacement to speed up and simplify cleaning and maintenance.

“We believe that our CP is the world’s most flexible case packer, with its ability to pack multiple formats into multiple case sizes and with quick tool change enabling changeovers to take place in the fastest possible time,” commented Eddie Holmes, product line technical director, Proseal.

“Coupled with the high performance of our proven GT2s tray sealer in our 3 Tier line, we now offer fresh produce growers and processors the ability to maximize efficiencies and throughput with no compromise on product or pack quality.”

ACS’s software packages provide centralized monitoring and control for both upstream and downstream equipment, from sealing, coding, and inspection of the primary pack to case packing, labeling, and final pallet labeling. This helps to minimize coding and packaging errors and improve overall efficiency. The systems also offer a variety of value-added benefits, such as data capture and inspection reporting for line performance assessment and compliance requirements.

The JBT S-Series Bin Scrubber features an innovative mechanical cleaning operation, that delivers far greater efficiency than rival systems. A sophisticated three-stage water filtering system recycles used water to minimize water consumption. Designed for both existing bin lines and stand-alone offline systems, the Bin Scrubber is capable of cleaning up to 30” high bins at up to 180 bins per hour.

Proseal is part of the JBT Corporation family, a leading global technology solutions provider to high-value segments of the food processing industry, committed to providing a service that surpasses customer expectations.
