Amcor’s responsible packaging solutions will be on display in an interactive and engaging exhibit at Pack Expo International in Chicago Nov. 3-6.

Amcor, a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, will launch an exciting and innovative PACK EXPO experience to help brands and copackers unlock growth through packaging solutions.

Inspired by the promise of responsible packaging for a brilliant future, Amcor’s flexibles and rigids businesses will come together to display packaging for retail, food service, healthcare, and industrial applications. Visitors will find Amcor in South Hall, booth #3705, at McCormick Place.

Guided by Amcor’s packaging experts, visitors will experience innovation driven by operational efficiencies and consumer trends, such as convenience, generational preferences, and shelf appeal. Brands focused on improving their sustainability will find drop-in solutions for over 85% of Amcor’s product portfolio, ready to run today and meeting the performance needs that customers’ production environments demand.

Interactive application demonstrates data-driven decision making for measuring carbon impact

Amcor is excited to bring to PACK EXPO visitors an on-demand application that compares over 130 packages with a more sustainable solution, quantifying reductions in energy use, carbon footprint, and water requirements. Amcor’s diverse portfolio of packaging solutions is designed to be recycled, reduces resource waste, and increases the use of recycled content across packaging formats.

New this year, Amcor will share more examples of fiber-based packaging. The AmFiber portfolio includes cold-seal bar wrap, dry mix pouches, and home care product sachets. AmFiber is curbside recyclable, reduces demands on virgin plastic, and meets product needs for barrier and shelf-life.

The company’s award-winning AmPrima portfolio of solutions is designed to be recycled – if clean and dry – at existing store drop-off locations, or curbside where available. AmPrima films meet or exceed the performance demands of current non-recyclable alternatives.

This year, Amcor’s healthcare business will move from the pharma pavilion to booth #3705, with the other Amcor groups. Consumer health brands will see numerous solutions, including the AmSky thermoform blister system, a recycle-ready alternative that is vinyl and aluminum free.

Amcor’s expertise in the inclusion of recycled content – AmFiniti – with both mechanically and advanced recycled materials, can be discovered in the circular economy demonstration table highlighted at the center of the Amcor booth.

Amcor also is known for developing responsible rigid packaging and will highlight recent developments in light-weighting technologies, bottle design and engineering that helps deliver environmentally friendly packaging. This includes PowerPost, DairySeal featuring ClearCor technology, and the Apex bottle with Elevate technology.

Liquiflex VFFS pouch demonstration for 67% carbon reduction compared to cans

Liquiflex is a fast, flexible packaging technology for foodservice products such as soups, sauces, dressing and condiments. Liquiflex intermittent or continuous motion VFFS pouching machines create strong, abuse-resistant, zero headspace pouches with superb seal integrity. Liquiflex features a programmable 200-function memory, rapid changeovers and cleanup, and accurate weight control to eliminate variability and profit loss.

Liquiflex pouches reduce carbon footprint by 67% compared to metal cans and provide up to 30% reduction in material thickness over competitive structures.

Amcor’s Moda Bag vacuum packaging system demonstration with Amcor shrink tubing

A compact, all-in-one, on-demand bag making and printing system for boneless or bone-in meats and cheese. This single, in-line, bag-making system significantly reduces material and labor costs, and allows packagers to pivot production quickly to meet changing SKUs, product sizes and labeling needs through on-site printing technology.

The Moda Bag system vacuum-packages products from rolls of shrink tubing up to 17". High-resolution thermal transfer printing delivers crisp brand graphics in-line and eliminates the need to keep individual SKUs of printed shrink bags or labels in inventory.

Film + machinery testimonials running in all halls

Amcor film will be running in machinery company booths throughout all halls of PACK EXPO. Over 60 film specs will be demonstrating the efficiencies created between machinery and packaging film. Attendees can stop at the Amcor booth for a map handout to guide their trip through the show.

Sunday, November 3, 3:00 pm CT, Innovation Stage 1: Terry Patcheak of Amcor Rigid Packaging will share how Amcor’s designers are creating the future of packaging today. Learn about Amcor’s steadfast focus on innovation to address sustainable and functional requirements while crafting rigid packaging that inspires and captures the consumer’s eye. Patcheak will discuss how the R&D teams work through customers’ problems to meet brand and more importantly consumer expectations.

Monday, November 4, 2:00 pm CT, Innovation Stage 2: The demand for more responsible packaging has never been greater. Pressure from retailers, consumers, and growing legislative initiatives is pushing increased use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. Frank Lin of Amcor Rigid Packaging will explain how Amcor is introducing specific quality standards for PCR that will set a new standard for the rigid packaging industry.

Monday, November 4, 3:30 pm CT, Innovation Stage 3: Alan Schrob, Nova Chemicals will join Amcor Flexibles Keya Peterson to present a system-wide approach to circularity for the flexibles industry. Gain a better understanding of the actions required by key stakeholder groups to achieve packaging circularity, and the role of recycled content to improve velocity of the model. We’ll also explore extended producer regulation (EPR) in North America, and how it can impact recycling infrastructure, consumer behavior, and packaging design.
