From 18 to 22 April, Syntegon opened its doors at the Verna site in Goa, India, to customers and suppliers: The company hosted an inhouse show to present its broad portfolio of packaging solutions for food products. Visitors were able to take a closer look at vertical, horizontal and secondary packaging systems for chocolate, bars, snacks, powders and candy. They also learned more about Syntegon’s after sales services and sustainable solutions. “The inhouse show was a huge success. We not only showed our customers our versatile solutions and comprehensive packaging expertise; we also discussed their most pressing needs and laid the foundation for even more successful joint projects,” says Nilesh Vedak, managing director of Syntegon Technology India.

Versatility from start to finish

During the five-day event, visitors were able to gain an overview of Syntegon’s comprehensive packaging portfolio. Two vertical bagging machines with integrated weighers demonstrated various packaging options for snacks. The SVE 3620 WR continous bagger showcased Syntegon’s pack style flexibility by creating six different bag styles. Manufacturers looking for high-speed systems were highly interested in the SVE 2520 AR that packages potato chips at an output of up to 95 bags per minute. The vertical portfolio was completed by a Terra 25HS, a high-speed vertical form, fill seal machine with belt draw-off technology. This system is exclusively manufactured in India and forms and seals 100 pouches per minute for snacks such as nuts or candy.

With the BVK 2000 A mini-bag form, fill and seal machine, Syntegon showcased a high-speed solution for confectionery products. Visitors whitnessed the efficiency and reliability of the horizontal machine and its fast changeovers that make it possible to process a variety of products. The same goes for a combination of the Pack 201 HS horizontal flow wrapper and the PDS product distribution system which was presented during the inhouse event: thanks to its flexibility, the machine is ideal for packaging products that come in different flavors and sizes, such as chocolate, bars or cookies. Once wrapped, the Sigpack TTME cartoner reliably places chocolates and bars in versatile carton formats and sizes.

The managing director of Syntegon Technology India, Nilesh Vedak, considered the trade fair as a complete success – one of the reasons were the valuable discussions with customers on their individual needs.

Thinking ahead: focus on sustainability and services

In addition to the exhibited technologies, Syntegon also informed visitors about its ongoing sustainability efforts. They received expert explanations about technologies to process more eco-friendly materials, such as vertical baggers with the PHS 2.0 sealing system that can handle more sustainable mono-material film rolls. Syntegon also presented solutions that enable manufacturers to use paper laminates on horizontal packaging machines – for both new and existing systems.

Visitors were further introduced to Syntegon’s extended service offers and digital solutions, including spare parts, maintenance and technical support, as well as modernizations, operator training and remote assistance. “Our comprehensive service portfolio covers the entire machine lifecycle and is tailored to individual needs. By inviting our customers and partners to our facility, we were not only able to present our most recent technologies and services; we also learned a lot more about their needs and challenges – the basis to further intensify our partnerships,” explains Vedak.
