Vitafoods 2024: SternVitamin presents premixes for women's health

FoodTechBiz Desk

At Vitafoods Europe 2024 from May 14 to 16 in Geneva, SternVitamin (booth B143) will focus on its premix solutions for women's health: The micronutrient premixes SternWoman 45+ and SternWoman MenoBalance for the peri-menopause (the period before and after the menopause) provide women in this age group with greater well-being and strengthen their mental and physical health.

SternWoman 45+ supports health goals that are affected by declining estrogen levels. These include, for example, heart and bone health. Vitamins B1, D, K2, magnesium, calcium and various plant extracts support heart health and have a regulating effect on cholesterol levels and blood pressure. SternWoman MenoBalance contains vitamin E, B vitamins as well as red clover, milk thistle and pomegranate extract to address typical peri-menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes. Both premixes are suitable for the production of tablets and capsules.

At Vitafoods, visitors can learn more about the micronutrient premixes and get inspired for new product development. SternWoman 45+ sachets for preparation as an instant drink with a natural blackcurrant flavor and innovative matcha wafers with the SternPowerUp premix (B vitamins and zinc) and matcha powder will be available for tasting. The functional ingredients contribute to mental and cognitive performance.

The growing market for dietary supplements for the menopause is based, on the one hand, on the breaking of taboos surrounding the topic of the menopause and, on the other, on the growing target group: due to an ageing society, there are more and more women in the menopause - currently around nine million women are in the respective age group in Germany.

“Today's generation of menopausal women has a different mindset - an open, positive attitude toward change, and they are actively looking for ways to support their health and well-being during this phase of their lives,” says Clarissa Gödde, product manager at SternVitamin. “Part of SternVitamin's offering is to work with our customers to develop new, creative product ideas that contain other components such as plant extracts in addition to micronutrients. The approaches are varied and depend on the specific requirements of the product and the nutritional goals.”
