The Chamber for Advancement of Small & Medium Businesses (CASMB) recently conducted a virtual internship for food science and technology post graduates. This initiative aims to enhance the competence and employability of the youth. The five-week program included skill development sessions, deep business learning, projects focusing on industry-defined problem statements to make the interns future-ready.
The internship program was conducted in three batches starting from 7 June to 3 September 2021. A total of 154 students registered and participated in this internship program from all over India.
The major topics covered during the internship included – product development in various food sectors; food safety & quality assurance parameters; regulatory compliance; auditing procedures; industrial manufacturing procedures for dairy, beverages, snacks RTC/RTE, blended spices, and bakery; workforce management; opportunities in the food industry; and more. In addition, a special keynote session by Dr Prakash Kondekar, chief guest, enlightened students on the importance of time management and presentation skills for the future. The course concluded with a final presentation on the allotted project.
Founded in 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chamber for Advancement of Small & Medium Businesses focuses on ‘Empowering the MSME Entrepreneurs to Achieve the Next Level Success’. Its vision is to work closely with all stakeholders to advance Micro, Small and Medium Businesses to make them more resilient and robust backbone of the Indian economy.
