Dr Navneet Singh Deora

Dr Navneet Singh Deora is the chief technology officer at Blue Tribe - a food tech company working to reinvent meat-consuming methods in India. Deora is responsible for developing tasty, juicy, and premium quality plant-based products, brand commercialization, and back-end supply chain management in his current position. He also oversees the day-to-day workflow while drafting innovative processes using best practices and methodologies. He is a food technologist with a rich leadership experience of over 15 years in the FMCG and food technology industries. He pursued his Bachelor’s in Food Technology and Processing from AD Patel Institute of Technology (ADIT), Gujarat, and holds a Master’s degree in the same domain from CSIR - Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore. He then extended his knowledge in the food ecosystem and pursued a PhD in Food and Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. Before joining Blue Tribe, Deora was an integral part of several food giants, including RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group as an extrusion expert in 2019. In 2018, he worked with Jubilant Food Works as an innovation scientist; in 2017, he was the cereal specialist at Nestle R&D, and until 2015 he was a research scientist with Prasan Solutions (India). During the initial days of his professional career, he has also interned with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages. His comprehensive experience and expertise in advanced science applications in the food technology industry made him the perfect candidate to develop sustainable yet equally tasty and nutritious alternatives to meat products. Furthermore, his in-depth knowledge about open innovation in the food industry, plant-based proteins, equipment design and advancements in cereal science became an essential base of Blue Tribe’s ultimate goal to encourage a lifestyle change among meat lovers in India and abroad.
